the problem is that there is smoke coming by the alternator but i cant point out the spot the belt does need to be changed and there where alot of loose bolts on the alternator. but could a old belt start to smoke? i just bought this car and its already making me mad. Mods:t/3 t/4 60 550cc fuel injectors, turbonetics manifold with 38mm tial waste gate,255 walbro pump,afc2 hks ssqv bov, front mount some of the work done to it was done by lse and some shop in north Dakota.

Is there anything leaking on the alternator? Oil? PS fluid? If you PS pump is leaking it goes directly down to the ALT.
Also what year car?

It is likely coming from the oil filter housing. When it leaks and you drive, it gets sucked up in the engine bay. It is an oil, coolant or other leak? Watch those 2 little hoses going to the oil cooler for the coolant. I roached an engine when I blew one of those.

thanks guys yeah there was a little leak of coolant coming out by a bolt by the belts i tightened that so no more leak :) but i think i found the smoke there are a bunch of loose bolts from the turbo to the manifold that i seen the washers move when it was running and it looks like its smoking when i rev the motor from that area so tommarow at school im gonna put it up on the hoist and go through every thing and tighten every loose bolt and use locktit and lock washers
