So this past weekend was the BMW Roadster Homecoming in Spartanburg, S.C. So we took the New Z4 to the home coming for the weekend and then decided to head to the Dragons tail in NC/Tenn boarder. (2hrs farther from the BMW plant in spartanburg) Anyways I was looking for photos on line and came across these 3 so far of us driving the Dragons tail (us129)
I'm driving the Metalic Silver Z4 in the top right of page 10 on this website

Here we are again on Page 11 this time you can make out the faces - my mother is riding shotgun

Here we are again on Pag 16 Top 3 photos are of us this time my mother is driving (Had to get hats my head was getting Sunburned), Nice shot of an Evo running also on this page.

I'll keep looking for more photos on line, and when ever I figure out how to download the ones we have I'll post those as well.

Can't wait to go back in Oct with the Bike! Anyone want to come down its 283miles from Deals gap to my door.

If anyone knows the owner of Killboys.com I'd like to know. He was one of the other photographers and was driving an Evo. I checked his sit yesterday and didn't see any pictures of us. And would love to know if he did.

How much for what? As for the Tail... Just picture the most windiest, tightest turning 318 turns you can imagine with banked turns etc. on the side of a mountain with a cliff on one side. And thats about how to descibe it. there is no shoulder so that just adds to the fear factor. the fastest I got the Z4 up to was 45mph. (speed limit is 30) and yes the cops were out there was 6 of them patroling the 11miles but it was a holiday. Most turns you're lucky to take at over 30mph and if you do your heart gets going. I couldn't push it to much with my mom in the car. But none the less fun as hell and definetely a place to go if you're in the area.
There were several clubs that came through. the BMW group did it on Thursday (wish I'd know we would have gone up for it) there was a Miata group on Saturday, and a Mustang Club on Sunday.
Saw 2 Porsche 996 running the coarse that was crazy cause they were really pushing it.
I was able to down load my pictures from the camera to the computer but this dial up is killing me on trying to load them on here. Hopefully I'll get a few up later.

S2000 guys love that road; 100-some turns in 11 miles or something like that. They hold 2 huge meets there every year and I definitely want to make it down sometime.

If you can I definetely think it will be fun. Its 318 turns in 11miles. And we counted it is. The best part is thats just 1 road in the smokey mountains I plan to go next time and take a day just exploring. At first we weren't sure if it had started yet. It actually starts at "Deals Gap" - anyways the road leading to deals gap I thought were fun as hell.

Only rule of thumb that I can't stress more is if you go DO NOT CROSS THE DOUBLE YELLOW. Thats the fastest way to kill someone if its busy. Pretty much every turn in a blind turn and you can not see whats coming around the corner. And there is no room to swerve if you have to. there is no shoulders for the most part and just a cliff on the other with about 100 foot drop. (well about a 70 degree angle down)

Anyways. Plenty of other roads near by. And a sweet lake if anyone has a jet ski or boat. Hopefully come next year I'll either have a pair of Jet skiis or a boat. But that means I have to get something to haul them with beside my mothers 32' RV.

I love that road, actually thinking of going over there thursday if the weather holds out. It is best to go on weekdays if you can. Also try the skyway nearby, i haven't done it yet but have heard that it is alot of fun.

Ohh I'm like 35-40 miles...
