My car's a 2g. I have a Greddy turbo timer that seems to be always giving me trouble with the car. Every now and then I guess my turbo timer drains out my battery? What will happen sometime is the car wont turn over and the tt is dead like it wont come on at all. What was scary this morning when that happend was the car finally turned on, I couldn't shut it off even after I took out the keys. The car was still running? If I wanted to, I could've probably drove to work, with a dead tt screen, with no key in the car. This had happend many times before and everytime I take the battery to Autozone to check the life of the battery, it seems fine. Take it back home, unhook the ground for the turbo timer, rehook it again, put the battery back in and the car starts like a charm again.

That is why my best guess is the turbo timer grounding wires. What's the deal with that? I got it grounded underneath the dash anywhere where there's a good ground spot. Any other ideas why this might be happening? I checked all the fuse and such and everything seems fine. It's a good thing I have a 2nd beater car. If you haven't figured it out already, anyone out there with a dsm should be required to have a 2nd car incase of emergency. I'm getting sick of this crap. Can I atleast get the car running for 2 months without any problems!?!

Did you just hardwire it in, or did you use one of those plug and play harnesses? I guess I've never heard of a TT doing this, or let alone even fail at all. Is this something you just recently installed and then this problem appeared? Or has this been installed and running for a year, and all a sudden this problem popped up out of no where?

Sorry, I do have the plug and play harness that came with it for my 2g. The tt ran fine for awhile and every now and then, it gives me that problem.

Won't you get rid of it to see if the problem was still there. This sounds more like a starter issue than an battery issue!

I kind of like the idea of setting a timer on the car and letting it count down till shut off so that I wouldn't have to sit in the car till it shuts off to let the turbo cool down. Before I had the tt, I hated sitting in the car for even just a few seconds to let it "cool down the turbo", especially when I'm in a hurry.

I do agree.... I love my HK$ TT. And I also have the plug and play harness too. I think I grounded it on the ground screw for the radio. Its been many years since I had it. hahaha I think its purple! :bengals: Oh and a cop asked me if that was my NOS controller!

Well I agree unplug it for a day of driving and see if it acts up again. My Festiva if its hot inside it wont start. I think a Solenoid is going bad on it. Take the starter out and bring it to Autozone and have them test it.

That sounds like a battery problem that I had

Car would start fine some days and then not work other days. Took it to one battery place said it was ok and then took it to sears and said it was bad...

It was a Red Top even... I didn't think they went bad

However I replaced the battery with a new sealed battery and fixed my problems.

However if the turbo timer is smashed, just buy another one. It should be easy to unplug it from the harness.
