I have a Carbon fiber hood and got hit in the front end. I got everything fixed but my carbon fiber hood is "spidering" or has cracks in the surface. there is no other damage done to the hood. I herd if you take clear coat and buff it that the cracks disapear. Is that true? if not is there any other way to fix it?

A body shop will be able to repair it. You might have to repaint it though. Best is to call up a body shop and ask.

Repairing carbon fiber is a very tricky thing. If the cracks go down to the mesh, (which they probably do) The hood is fucked, and it can't be repaired. If the cracks aren't deep enough to go into the mesh, they can be sanded out, then re-clearcoated. If you end up sanding intop the mesh, it tears it all up, and it's impossible to fix and not be noticable.

+1 on what kevin said its probably possiblle to have a body guy put a thin layer of bondo and paint it to match your car but you would loose the look. and it would probably cost 300-500 to do. possibility though
