Yesterday I made the mistake of yanking out the speedometer cable from its housing when removing my gauge cluster.
So today the project was to locate the housing on the transmission and get it working again. Just as I located it, the factory jack (only one I had) gave way, tipped over, and sent my 3000lb van pummeling to my chest.
After about 1-2 minutes of screaming for help and trying to lift the weight off my skull, two girls happened to walk by. They were able to lift it up enough for me to squeeze out. Good timing, as my muscles were about to give up on me.
A liter of blood, stretcher, catscan, and 15 stitches later, I'm back at my computer. Scariest thing that's ever happened to me. And the last time I go under a vehicle without more stands or people.

Thanks everyone. The doctor did a great stitching job, and I'm feeling much better already. I was very lucky.. and very stupid. Please, everyone, always:
1. Use the e-brake
2. Use jackstands
3. Put blocks of wood behind the opposite tires
4. Anything else you think is necessary.
Someone told me he always keeps his garage door opened when he's under his car to have a better chance of someone hearing him if it does fall. Not a bad idea..
Thanks again guys--I appreciate the support.
