Well here she is the latest project to begin going underway here in a short while. I recently acquired this car from a friend of mine, i helped him put a tranny in his other talon, so as payment he gave me this one and a flat black one. So here is the story
My buddy bought this car with the intentions of building it up and racing it, but soon his hopes had deminished, after the compression numbers came back in the low 30s on two of the cylinders he gave up, and bought a different car, leaving this to sit and rot. After a phone call, i helped him put a tranny in his new all wheeler, so after that payment was the 2 all wheelers he had sitting there.
After picking them up i brought them to the shop, the 90 flat black all wheeler is plagued with cancer, but the red one is glossy and in overall decent shape. After removing the head in preperation to replace the rings and bearings in the motor, i found that the pistons had been kissing some valves and got some canker sores.
So thats how the car sits now, headless, trannyless, and clutchless.
This is going to be a budget build for me, just to see what a minor freshing up will do for a pretty much stock car. I am budgeting myself to what i have in the garage, and 500 bucks. I am not going to be doing a turbo upgrade, but i am going to be upgrading everything that i can around it. So here is what i have so far that is going to be going into the motor and driveline.
act 2100 clutch with stock flywheel
new oem rings
new acl race bearings
arp headstuds
mitsu mls headgasket
mild port work on the head
ported 14b turbo
ported 2g manifold
ported 2g o2 housing
eibach sportline lowering springs
autometer boost, and oil pressure gauges on a-pillar
street tires
3in turbo back exhaust
manual boost controller
walbro 190lph fuel pump
evo 560cc injectors
safc
basically i have everything in my garage except for the fuel injectors, the boost controller, the exhaust, and the safc. I am going to try shooting for a low 13 sec run or a high 12. If i have enough money left over, a set of cams may be in he cars future, but who knows.
