Last I seen MN min was around 6 dollars an hour. That was four years ago. It might of changed with the cost of living. Out here Cleveland went up from 4 dollars to 6 an hour.

like its quoted in that article, 9.50 in NY is different than 9.50 in the midwest.

this is a bad idea. the minimum wage should be determined and kept by the state.

if minimum wage goes up, prices for all goods and services go up... but, my wage stays the same. the middle class falls lower on the totem pole, and i get fucked in the ass.

Ya know, that's one aspect I didn't think of. I wonder if I can find anything that talks about the overall price of goods going up when there is a minimum wage increase. Kinda funny how people who are living on upper class wages get to controll middle class life.

Actually minimum is 6.15. And as an economist i can honestly say that raising minimum wage to 9.50 is a horrible Idea.

First of all ... It has the potential to send inflation through the roof. Which means that those precious parts that you guys can afford to buy and I can't will push it to the point where no one in a lower income bracked will be able to.

Second of all .... Do you really thing that the burger flippers down the road really deserve $9.50 to spit in your food anyway???

Didn't think so.

I have actually heard that burger flippers make decent money, $10+? Just what I have heard. I myself make over $10 flippin burgers. I am a "cook" at a rest.

I dunno about the food preparers at taco bell. I think they aren't making 10 bucks an hour. I just got a "raise" to 14 an hour. It's so stupid working for an hourly rate, I want to be salaried and work 30 hours a week so I can play with toys I bought from my salary.

I just swilled some beer and I'm not thinking straight, but I think higher min. wage is a good thing, overall. Less "poverty" class people asking for the handouts. Think of that angle! :)
