Is this kind over rated for a problem or is it really that weird that you can't replace your own battery?

I don't like cingular and will never switch back after switching to verizon but if i still had cingular the fact that you can't change your own battery would really make me take some extra time to think about buying the iphone. thats just me though

I have always been a fan of apple products, the iPhone is not the swiss army knife of phones, it does not have every feature.

How many times have I had to replace my iPods battery? None
Will I ever have to replace the battery in the iPhone, maybe every couple years, who cares, if you can afford to blow $600 on a phone and another $100 a month on service, you can afford a new phone/repair costs of said phone.

I am not getting one because AT&T Sucks ass, and EDGE is slow.

I will get the new widescreen ipod when it comes out and maybe a 2G or 3G iPhone if it comes out for tmobile.

I have an iPhone and it fucking OWNS! I don't care if I can't replace the battery. I'm sure it's actually possible, just not as easy as some other phones.

I'm sure it is a sweet phone but I wouldn't spend $600 on a cell phone because I always lose them or break them especially when I buy nice ones. I have had my ipod for almost two years and I am surprised I haven't lost or broken that yet.

I bet that guy owned a 1g at one point in time, cause this just seems like a DSMer mentality.... If you can't take it apart and fuck with it, it's worthless..... :p

Yeah, from what I've seen of yours I really like the features and layout. I know cell phone batteries have a long life, but it just seems weird that a user can't replace it. The only thing that limits me from looking at a phone like that is that I won't leave Verizon service right now. Gotta stick with what works for me.

If the iphone is like the ipod. Then replacing the battery is easy. You just have to spend 19 dollars for the tool. Its like a putty knife but plastic.... Just run it along the crease on the iphone or ipod and it will pop the case open. The battery should plug in just like the ipod. But wow this same attack was about the ipod. Some people.

Yea exactly. Its not like you *can NOT* replace it, just that it's not easy. No biggie.
