I've been trying to install an SAFC on my 97 GSX so I can tune it, but for some reason whenever I plug in the SAFC my stock boost gauge stops working and the car sort of bogs and I have a difficult time getting over 3000 rpms. I zeroed everything, made sure it was set on karmann, and 4 cyl. Checked and rechecked my wiring connections. Not sure what's going on. And as soon as I unhook the SAFC the car drives normal and the stock boost gauge starts working again. From what I understand the car should drive normal if everything is zeroed on the SAFC when it's connected, so I'm lost. My mods are 14b, FMIC, mbc. Any suggestions?

did you cut the Mass wire and wire it to two wires on the SAFC The car should run like crap and have a check engine light if the safc is unhooked. does the TPS HZ and RPM show anything when your on the display screen?

Check wiring here http://www.vfaq.com/index-main.html I tihk this is for a SAFC2 if you on a SAFC or a Neo it should be close

Ah, shit, yea the white one isn't connected. Thanks man. I think I have the pink wire from the safc harness going to the MAS wire on the ECU, which was how it was shown on the diagram I used. So if the pink wire doesn't go to the MAS wire, then where does it go? or is it not used? B/c it doesn't say anything on the vfaq walk-throughs about the pink wire.

You need to read a little closer and carefully before you end up shorting out your whole electrical system! What happen to your SAFC manual?

I bought the SAFC1 used, didn't come with a manual.

The above steps say use the pink and orange wires on terminal 90 (air flow), but the other SAFC1 walk-through on vfaq says use the white and yellow wires on terminal 90, so I'm lost here.

Is the blue screen version or a dials version.

Here are some instructions I made a long time ago for the old boxey blue screen version into a 2G.

It's the old boxey blue screen version. Ah, ok yea, that's the diagram I followed initially which I got from you way back when I installed my a/f gauge, but I guess I didn't get the full picture so I didn't see the orange wire. Thanks Shane.

So did you try it? And did it work?

No, haven't had a chance, preparing for three days of "team building" activities for the next three days at work. I'll probably try tomorrow night after I get back.
