well this really F***ing sucks. i was going to leave duluth today to go home to install my new egt gauge and control arm. yesterday this thumping sound started comming from the rear left side of my car. i didnt think it was a big deal, ive heard it before and it has always goine away with in a mile. this time its here to stay. i get on the highway to go back home and its not too bad but i notice that its getting worse. i make it about 10 miles and decide to turn back. the car vibrated a lot and the noise got very loud. anyway here is the details.

i only hear it when slowing down with the clutch in or out. i dont hear it when accelerating. loud thumping/clicking comming from what sounds like passenger side rear area. i got under the car enough to grab the passenger rear axle and it doesnt seem to have any play in it. i was about to check the drive shaft when i laid my hand on the nice hot exhaust pipe. i thought it might be the carrier bearing but it goes away when i accelerate which i dont under stand.

Check for a bad tire, possibly going out of round on you.

its the wheel bearing. i took it to a place down the street and i could shake the rear tire side to side. looks likeim stuck here untill they can fix it.
