what kind of tools should I get?

Snap-on makes very nice boxes, much nicer than Craftsman IMO. I use a Craftsman box, and the only thing I don't like about it is that it isn't nearely as deep as say a Mac or Snap-on box of the same size.
I dont like the slide lock on the drawers of the snap-on boxes, I like the Mac design much better. One of our instructors says the paint on the snap-on boxes doesnt hold up well eather

I have never heard anything about Snap-On paint failing. Craftsman tends to bubble from rust. Of course it depends on the grade of box from either one I guess.

I had a mac box, a matco cart, and my current box is the snap-on box, in limited edition anodized purple drawer-fronts. No issues so far.

I have all Craftsman tools. However, I have been eyeing Husky's products.

I know that Matco air tools are made by Ingersoll Rand. Who makes Snap-On, Mac, Craftsman, etc. air tools?

Kennedy makes some nice boxes and they have a powder coat finish. That is what 75% of the machinist boxes are out there (if you have seen the brown wrinkle powder coat it is a Kennedy). I have had a couple for many years and they have been great. The regular slides are smoother than most places BB slides.

You can't go anywhere in Waterloo IA, without seeing a Waterloo tool box I swear, I think mcdonalds even uses them as counters and tables down there.
