ok so right now im having a tuff time finding a way to pick up this cherry picker and figure out whats going on my car, so its leaving me thinking wtf is really going on? is it the block or is it something with the transmission?

See the car broke down about 12 miles after i noticed symptoms with my car. I kno i caught it right when it happened cuz the experience ive had with cars im always checking to make sure everything was good. but anyways when i was driving the car, the engine was going into full boost everything was fine, but there seemed like there was something caught in my tires, the car wouldnt pull any harder then it usually does when i was creeping to a higher speed?? if i remember correctly my oil pressure was low, but acceptable. when i broke down i remember checking that first. i had at least 1 1/2 quarts in there (low yes). after towing the car to the a shop, guy checked that first and nothing came up on the dip stick. so im kind of stuck, if my car was low on oil i would hear a knock? I kno my lifters were ticking, but not alarmingly loud. i run 10w 30 semi syn.

I talked to a guy via email and he told me sometime during rebuilds they forget to put this bolt on the back of the tranny to engine? sometimes the flywheel flexes??

im growing impatient on waiting on this cherry picker and i want to find out so i kno what im in the market for buying.. ie a new block.. what?

plus if i pull the oil pan.. how can i see if a bearing is bad? and what will i need to look at to know if the bore has been scored?

If you pull the oil pan there will likely be shavings in the bottom of the pan if the block is bad. A compression test will also be a good indicator.

...like checking to make sure it had enough oil? haha sorry I couldn't help it. If I were you I would take the car into one of the local (or non local) shops to have them check it out and let you know what's really wrong.

well the engine is basically disassembled.. do you think they can still figure it out??

how can i do a compression test if it doesnt turn and get stuck?

If it doesn't turn over your engine is likely screwed. Pull off the tranny and see if it still doesn't turn over. Pulling the oil pan will likely tell you also. I bet it is full of shavings.

Ok ill check that..

Right now everything is basically disassembled besides the speedo cable and one downpipe nut to seperate the exhaust..

how should i go about taking out the speedo cable?? i looked at the tranny and theres one nut holding it on.. i pull the nut and its still locked in there.. i cant remember exactally what i did before, but last time i think i lost some pin inside the thing pulling it from the tranny..

Also i pulled one of the two nuts off the 02 housing to downpipe.. the other one just wont come off.. i took alot of PB blaster to it.. i have no air tools.. so i dont know what i should do...

Thanks

The speedo cable just unscrews from the tranny, that metal end to it unscrews and that is it, no bolts.

Make sure you have a 6 sided socket and crank on the nut. Heating it with a torch may help, but I have gotten mixed results with it.

well the engine and tranny is out..

couple things i noticed is the fluid coming out of the tranny was darker grey and smelled burnt...

The gear on the transfer case that goes to the tranny was rusted red, not lubed or anything. basically tomorrow im going to take the tranny off and see if i can turn the engine over then... oh and check the oil pan

post pics tomorrow..
