If you race for money, you cannot race at the track. One 12 second pass will kill off your races for the rest of the year. No more easy money.
That's not even close to true unless your racing some slow cars. There are all kinds of 12 second and faster cars out there to run and the new dumbasses who would have had Hondas 3 years ago and now have WRXs and EVOs who think they have the fastest shit on the planet, but have never been to the track. Half the guys out there still see a pos 1G DSM and have no idea they are about to get waxed.
Racing for money. Works great....in theory.

Not trying to rip on you directly dude. I have street raced before. I just don't really think I will again unless I'm really not thinking. But dude, when I'm talking about street racing, I mean like down cedar ave, and 35w. If your on a closed isolated road, I don't really see the harm taking it up to like 100 or so.
still on teh street right? If so, I call it street racing. You would be stupid to race up a city road.

I am talking about the same people. The WRX, EVO, mustang, and camaro owners who think that their car is the shit. 12 seconds was just an example. Although a 12 second car is pretty damn quick for the strret. Could probly beat 95% of the cars on the road. When racing for money, you look for the easy races. You don't walk strait up to the camaro pulling 900 whp and ask to race for $100 vs your dsm only having 300 whp. The goal is to race slow cars for money. Not a big risk of losing. From what I have seen, a mid 13's crx is GOD to the street racing honda fans.

Has anyone here actually ever street-raced for money and come out with more than $5-10? I have been in the scene for over 4 years now and have seen ONE money race, and that was between CVD and some bitch-boy who lost and wouldn't pay up cuz he needed gas money...CVD ended up getting a whole $5 out of the deal.

Nope and if you piss off the wrong people when you beat them you might end up getting shot.
