View Full Version : 2 psi at 5k wtf need help asap

I got the clipse up and running, idles fine etc. problem I am having tho is I get no boost the highest I have gotten is around 2 psi at 5k definately not right. The bov is also not functioning and I am getting compressor surge. I have a greddy type s with the vac hose hooked up to the intake near the buterfly. It is set on the lowest setting but it still does not open.

I have 2 boost gauges, one is the e-manage sensor that gave me the 10 kpa reading and the other mechanical gauge is hooked up to the same line as the fpr and has not shown any boost. I checked with my air compressor to see if it works and it does.

I also checked all the ic pipes and clamps, sprayed them with soapy water and none of them had any leaks.


any Ideas?

its a 2.4 spyder gs btw

BOV could be stuck open too. It sounds like you may have done a boost leak test, if you did then I think Steve got it.

should I be able to move the actuator rod when the car is off? Im thinking this might be my problem

Yes, you should, but you'll want to grab it with a pliers to move it.

ok the waegate moves then springs back, I took the bov apart and removed one of the srpings, its a greddy type s, no the comp surge is gone but t stil only bosts to 25 kpa at 5k rpm, still strange could it be that the aegate flapper does not seat right?

"its a 2.4 spyder gs btw" Could you give us little more info on your setup? Who install the turbo kit. Where are you tapping for you turbo Gauge? Does it bog when you boost? More info will be nice.
