I have a question for you who are familiar with dsm's and know a thing or two about cars. see that I don't know a ton about cars but i'm working on learning. well I know some about cars just not how to fix them. so is there anyone out there who would be willing to help a newb out cause I left work to night and the break light, coolant light and the alternator light came on at the same time I lost my power steering then not far after that it started to over heat. so if there is anyone in the area who would be willing to come and help me out on monday there would be some money in it for you. I would help as much as possible. I will be going out of town tomorrow afternoon and will be coming back sometime on sunday. leave a post, send me a pm let me know?

Sounds to me like you lost your Alternator/Water pump belt. Pretty simple fix, check it out, run to the parts store and pick one up.

Loosen up the alternator, put the new belt on, tighten the alternator and be on your merry little way! :)

Yes because the power steering runs off the water pump with its own belt.

Should be just the belt or the waterpump is going bad and seizing up.

a belt was squeaking when I start it until it would warm up. and I haven't gotten around to checking it out and then this happened so hopefully it's just a belt
