I'm just here basicaly for vacation and to learn the language better (if I can). Some of the fish is good, but none of the food here is procesed like for you fat americans, haha! j/k. All the bones are still in the food. Just have to work to get your food. I might get skinny here except everyone wants to take me out to eat and then they insist non-stop for me to eat more. usually I oblige them. :)

Who are you staying with or where are you staying? Are they friendly to you considering your nationality?

Nice. I'm sure I'll end up in China here in the next few years with the amount of Power Plants they are constructing there. How's the food?

Heh, it's great here. If you go anywhere besides the big attractions like the great wall or tienanmen square, you get long stares from everyone, here in Chengdu EVERYone stares. I have seen a few other white people around here and everytime I wave or smile and they do the same. No such luck with Chinese people. We went to this restaurant and the entire staff sat and stared at me the whole time we were eating. I took a bite and said, "MMMmmmmmm" realy loud and they laughed, then when we left I said, "goodbye everyone!" in Chinese. it was funny.
Today we went to see this "international festival of intangible cultural (something or other)" and I was interviewed twice because I am white, lmao.
I stick out like a sore thumb, but it's neat because I like attention. Some of the stares are a little too hard though.
As for the plane flight, I recommend continental, they haev good food, and a lot of it. I was never hungry. TV in every seat too!
c ya!

Where else are you going? We were getting followed by some government travel weirdos when we up in Datong, but we lost them by switching hotels. Have you been riding the trains around? And are they still like straight out of Drunken Master where people are literally jumping in through the windows to get on and get a seat. We had to stand for 5 hours on one train trip in the middle of the night in the connecting area between 2 train cars because there wasn't even room to sit on the floor.

Well, I haven't ridden on trains, but busses are like that. Just filled to the brim. You gotta think - there are a billion more people here than in the U.S.
I won't be going too many other places, but probably for sure this place called jio jai go (that's probably completely wrong in Pinyin, but that's how it sounds) and it's the lake that Jet Li and the other dude faught on in Hero (where they were flying around dipping the swords and stuff).
This place has fog every day, pretty much never a clear sky, and not because of pollution either. I'll try and get more pics today.
