The EVO's have a slightly more retarded gasket than the DSM's do...but a nice 7cm gasket will give you a nice gain. Your stock gasket is basically a restrictor plate with 2 holes in it to allow the exhaust flow. I believe all EVO-certified Mitsu tech's were briefed on this so maybe 1quick4 will know more about it. I have heard if you remove it the warranty will get voided...but then again going to the grocery store will have the same end result.

Only if they 'catch' you driving to the grocery store on tape and review it with the board of directors.
Is your sig floppy head?

IIRC the Evo8 has the equivalent of a 9.8cm gasket, and switching to a non-twin scroll gasket will kill the spoolup(add a shitload of lag). The idea of a twin scroll setup is to keep cylinders 1 and 4, and 2 and 3 exhaust pulses separated all the way to the turbine wheel, preventing them from meeting in the manifold out of phase. This allows the Evo to have a larger turbine housing and better spool than normal setups.

From what I had read the EVO8 gasket was sized the same at the 7cm, I appologize for this information. Anyone here looked at the collector on the EVO8 manifold? I would like to see how it looks.

how can i get this to work on a dsm?

You want to put a twin scroll setup on your DSM? I'd say that is an absolute waste of time. I don't even know anyone who makes twin scroll manifolds for our cars. Well, I think there were some t4 twin scroll manifolds i THINK, but I'm assuming that's not what you are looking for. If you want some stupid fast spool, just go with a ballbearing turbo. You'd probably have to make your own custom manifold to go twinscroll, plus try and find an aftermarket turbo with twinscroll designed into the exhaust housing which I doubt there are as many of those floating around as there are regular dsm aftermarket turbos.

Don't get me wrong, I loved how my buddies turbo spooled up on his evo. I think the twin scroll is an awesome design. But I think the money you'd be paying to get someone to design you a manifold for this on your car, and then spending the money on a new turbo with this design in it. I think that would be a complete waste of your money.

you are probably right, i just want a quicker spool.

I know one or two people have put the twin scroll Evo 8 turbos onto a DSM. I don't think it is worth all the effort though. I run a divided T4 exhaust manifold that can be used with divided or undivided T4 exhaust housings.
