I am sure the insurance co will total it, but they does not mean he cant collect the money and keep the car. It just means that there will be a slavage title on it (which kinda sucks in the long run) but he could fix it up him self. I am only going off the pic but it seems like there is some major frame damage to the left side. He almost might be better parting it out and keeping only what he want for his next one!
