It looks like Mitsu is going to be around for a while longer!

That's good. Now if only they could build a new design mitsubishi eclipse with the 4G63.

No, the last thing they should do is be like GM and use engines from the 1930's like the v8's and stuff. the 4g63 has been around in various forms for over 25 years and they've moved on. All aluminum blocks ftw. Lighter, and just as moddable.

Glad to see I will still be able to buy OEM parts at mitsu.

But will they hold high boost without the need to sleeve the block?

How many times have you taken apart a 4g63? Would taking apart a new engine to put sleeves in be any more difficult? I'm sure the new 4 cyl. will easily make 300 whp just like the old one. Plus, it's a brand new engine! :)

The block comes sleeved from the factory!

Screw droping a 4g in the Eclipse. It had its fun. Now if they turbo the new 6g thats in it and mat a AWD drivetrain with a Getrag tranny. That be fun.

Its great to see Mitsu turning around. I am happy for them.

It doesn't surprise me that Mitsu turned a profit this year. They are coming out with some new cars that appeal to the masses. I know they don't make enough "cool" cars for some of us to enjoy. But they can turn out enough new Outlanders and Galants to make soccer moms happy. ;)

I'm looking forward to the new EVO X. I think this car will really sell well.

later,
Curt

They also aren't spending $$$ on a WRC team anymore. I wonder if they will again after a few years of making money?

Umm, they have a Mitsu team in the WRC, and have backed a test team of multiple cars though the whole process. At least from what I've gathered off various Speed channel shit. In the end, they have made some changes to the cars that Curt mentioned and it seems to be working. Plus, they deny warrenties like mad, who wouldn't save money doing that? ;)
