I have a 95 GSX with a Evo III 16g and when I installed the turbo I managed to cross thread the bolts the cinch the turbo to the exhaust manifold, I now sick of looking at my ghetto set up and was wondering what would be the best way to repair if possible the threads so I can use all four bolts again.

There are some bolt rethreading kits out there, but you're going to have to retap the holes as well. It would be like 10x easier to just get new bolts and retap the holes. Either way, it's not going to be pretty. My lower control arm bolt that attaches by the rocker panel broke inside the hole from rust, tried retapping.. the fuckin tap broke inside.. so we welded a threaded stud onto the tap and everything else in the hole. I'm going to be driving down the road one day and BAM! :spin:

A friend told me I should just drill them out to 10mm vs the 8mm that they are correct me if I'm wrong please, I'm not too keen on that idea as it would involve driling the manifold and the turbo.

I'd just leave it; I've never tried re-tapping same size bolts, usually you drill the hole a little bigger and use slightly larger bolts.

I had a bolt break off and just put my 14b exhaust housing on. Much easier than fixing the old one. Not sure if the evo III is the same housing though.

The best way to do this i have found, is if the threads are still there drill them out, and put a nut on one side and then drop a bolt through the whole thing and tighten that way.

That's a great idea thanks.
