I had one on my last car, but stock DSM ignition seems to be good till about 400hp plus, i would say that it is unnecessary.

what kind of power is it rated for? DSM ignitions seem dandy for quite a bit of power, but Evo ignitions fall a bit short. The HKS units have been a bit prone to failure, so it'd be nice if there were more (affordable) alternatives out there.

You would use a DIS-2 for a DSM. The SCI ignition is for distributor cars like Hondas. The stock DSM ignition is good for over 700HP. I tested a DIS-2 on my car when it was making around 700whp on the Dynojet at Elite and saw no noticable power difference. I didn't play around with plug gaps though.

I run the DIS-4, awesome system.
