I will get pics up later but I built a new computer from newegg. Asus M2N-SLI Deluxe mob, AM2 socket, AMD Athlon x2 3600+ dual core oem, 2 gigs of ram, big cpu cooler, BFG 7900gs oc graphics card(SLI ready), 80 gig SATA hard drive, 2 cd/burner drives, coolmaster case, 460watt power supply. I had one of Ryans friends look it over after I built it and he liked the stuff, minus the power supply o well. I can not wait to play some cool pc games on it, CODUO on the FK server is what I will try tomorrow. It 3d bench marks at 17,231

Future mods would be over clocking the processor and memory, then run SLI with another 7900gs, bigger power supply, but I am happy with it for now. Cost was about $840 after shipping and stuff.

What does something like that cost these days? I haven't bought a desktop(specially a gaming machine)in a long time.

It depends on what you want to put into it. I think John used most of his old parts from the one I built for him. But then again if you want to go all out you be looking at a spendy machine. Use newegg.com its your friend.... Or use pricewatch.com that to is your friend.

Nice set up bro.... Why two CD burners? I have a DVD Burner and a DVDROM now.... Just wondering why the two in there.

460w PSU is not bad ... I have a Thermaltake PurePower 480W "Butterfly" PSU...damn thing looks sweet with my window case. But I think he wanted you to get a 500w but eh...like said always room to upgrade.

Nice setup man!

Yeah it totally depends on what you want to do as far as gaming. If you want a DX10 card my friend just upgraded his PC and spent about 1300 for everything except a case and monitor.

I've gotten to the point to where I'm just going to buy new laptops every year and a half, since they've started putting decent video cards in at a fair price, plus it makes it easy for LAN's. I'm just waiting for the Nvidia 8800 to come out for laptops then I'll get my new one.

Not to be mean about this John. But what you going to get out of it. Just keep that one around and use it for something else. Like another computer maybe for the wife. I know she was having problems with hers. Just a thought there.

My only question is now after thinking about it. Why just a 80gb HDD? You could of got a 120 or bigger for a nice price.

Agreed. I got my 250gb SATA2 Seagate for around $80 a year ago.

What does SLI do?

It makes it so you can double up your Nvidia video cards to make most games about an average 70-80% faster in framerates. It's pretty pimp, especially when you have like 1400 dollars to drop on two of the latest top of the line cards.

ATI has the same thing called crossfire, but it kind of blows like most Canadian things.

I only wanted to spend $35ish on a hard drive for now, when I feel ball'n I will buy two way bigger drives and set them up in Raid, suckers. I am happy with the computer for sure, plays cod with max graphics my monitor will display at 60+fps, then if I turn the graphics down one notch it stays ~150fps and if I am in a building or little redering it pegs at 300+fps which is the max I have set for the game, now I just need to get good with a fast computer.
