hey guys, just wondering about my new fmic I just installed last night. I used to have a lot smaller fmic (greddy small and cute one w/ all the extra unnecessary piping). The new one i just put in is a lot bigger and has the short route ic piping. What can i expect from this bigger mod? This thing was a lot of fun actually to put in because of the body work that my friends and I had to do ourselves. The foglights had to go and I have to re-route my radiator overflow bottle. Will I be expecting EGT temps to go up? Retune? thanks for all the help

You may notice your engine temp go up now that you have a huge restriction in front of your radiator!

Other than that, if your old intercooler wasn't heat soaking, and was cooling the amount of air you were pushing just fine, then you probably won't notice a whole heck of a lot. Maybe some one-sies and two-sies.

that was the only thing that i was worried about, so I just gotta work on my egt's then. Cuz my egt's were a little hotter when I watched them last night when I was driving, I guess next would be a bigger radiator and a spal fan or something.

Um.. your egts shouldnt go up with a bigger IC.. Ju-on is talking about your coolant temp going up because of the extra heat.

I ran into alot of overheating issues, 2 slimline fans, Radiator air sccop underneath the car, no AC, and a new thermostat fixed the problem. I also use water wetter in the summer as well.

I use a drop of dish soap to help break up the surface friction.

Peter, who is ju-on? :)

And also, there are some cheap alluminum radiators on ebay for just under 200 bux, which would help with any over heating issues as well.

my AC? damn, i like AC and so do the ladies... well i'll invest in slim-line fans and radiator for starters, then i'll bolt on one of them big ass cooling fans that u use for dynoing, that should help, that should make up for the AC, right? LOL, thanks for the info guyz, much appreciated
