Go on car sites like Extremepsi or Slowboy or any of those, and basically build your dream dsm/mitsu just to see how much it would cost to make your car completly finished (at least for the time being)?
I did that the other day on Extremepsi.com and came up just shy of $6000. Damn its getting down there slowly but surely. Granted this is just products on that site, there are some products that were not on their site as well, but not much.

I do sorta, but I search cars.com for different cars more than anything.

I also go to cars.com or to the car companys web site and do it that way. I don't go to sites like extremepsi.com or what not anymore.

I used to go to both of those sites and just look at what shit costs and yes, I have tried to see how much my dream setup would be. I've also compared prices a lot. For example, I compared a SBR short block, what the parts would have been separate from SBR, extremepsi, and eBay, then I found out how much it would cost for the cheapest from all of them. I've put many an hour into price research, now if only I could be motived to do it for that fucking paper due in two weeks :(.
I used to do that, but there aren't many readily available things left. I find myself shopping at Jeg's more now. The Speedglass windows, new drive shaft and bigger turbo are the only things I could possibly see in my future. It is pretty rediculous already, so I am not looking for much more power.

I think we all may do this everyday or every spare chance some of us may get. I limit myself to ~60$/day or roll days over for a bigger purchase..I think having a "budget" or a plan works out quite nicely.
I do eBay searches for "dsm" "4g63(t)" "eclipse laser talon" and then go to the misc. websites searching for Group Buys or New Product Releases. Then I search for other jalopies like Colts, Hyundai's or whatever else a 4G can be swapped into.
I have misc. lists of parts needed and printed in Excel to configure prices for setups or choices and then tons of manuals like some vfaq ones or DSMLink guides and advice printed out.
I feel like a nerd now. I'm going to shut up.

I would do that, but I've already got just about everything on my car I can put on. I'm with JET, at this point there's not much left except for stuff like toe elimination kits, Hoosier QTP's with light wheels and possibly drag coilovers. Most everything else is custom or from the V8 high performance world.
