Anyone live around Chicago?

Hey everyone, I have a huge problem. But let me get the details out first.

I will be going to a conference at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaigne in 2-3 weeks. This university is about 2 1/2 hours away from Chicago. I have also registered at a hotel to spend three / four nights. Also, a few of my colleauges are going with me, but they all booked their flights together and are staying in their own hotel rooms.

My problem is, They are flying straight to the airport right by the University. Mine is flying to Chicago. Theirs is departing at that airport while mine departs in Chicago. Their hotel is right by the University in Champaigne, my airport is in Chicago.....

I booked everything through Expedia and called them back today. Changing my whole flight plan would be an additional $780 dollars out of my pocket. If I changed my hotel reservation to the correct one, it would be $245 dollars instead but the problem would be that I don't have any transportation.

What I'm wondering is if there's anyone here that can help me out. This is the first time that I have ever gone on a plane out of state by myself, so I'm pretty scared shitless of going and so forth.

Any ideas / help ?

Call up cars.com ( I think its cars.com ... or anyother rental place price it out) and rent a car for the four days. That be the cheapest route you can go. Just get a Econo box and drive that around. Thats the best route I can think of. That sucks it would cost an arm and a leg to redo everything. Hope I helped ya out. And Chicago sucks for driving around in. So get a map.

ICEMAN on here lives in the Chicago area now, but he isn't on here much anymore and I havn't talked to him in a while.
