Little sample that might make someone read the whole thing:

"Like the one of Mike Webster, the Hall of Fame Pittsburgh Steeler who died broke and sick and had spent time homeless, living in his pickup truck."

&

"Or Herb Adderley, another of those old Packers, who is so disgusted at his $126.85 per month pension in the face of all the NFL's profits that he refuses to wear his Super Bowl or Hall of Fame rings anymore."

After reading more, what are your thoughts a opinions.

Personaly, I'm kind of saddened that the NFL wouldn't just take care of the older players as they take care of the current players. Some obviously need to look at how they managed their money, but what about those who spend more time in the hospital than in their own home due to the time they gave to the sport, many in a time when safety was a minimal concern and equipment was very lacking.

I have little symphathy. I realize that back in the begining players wern't making the millions they are today. But they still made a profession out of a sport.

Its like feeling bad for porn stars because they get diseases. They did make a living out of doing somthing they enjoy.
