Some of the obvious ones I think of:

Ameritrade, Fidelity, Scottrade, Sharebuilder, & TradeKing are a few that come to mind right now. I'm just looking around a bit at options to maybe buy a little stock and see what happens over the next year or so.

Hell, maybe even install the Stock Trader hack on the site. ;)

So which company would you suggest and why?

I have friends on Ameritrade and Etrade, no complaints. It's all about how much you want to spend per trade and what it'll cost to open an account. It all varies from time to time, so whoever is the better deal one day may not be the next.

You currently have an account with Etrade since that's who ATK goes through, so I wonder if you could just use that existing account....

I closed that down when I sold the stock. if I would of left it open I'd be paying around $15 a month to keep it, it wasn't worth it.

This may be a little off topic but for those who want to trade but are not comfortable or have little clue, here is a good website for mock trading.

this is sort of off topic... but for those of you who want to try it out before you use real money you can always do VSE (Virtual Stock Exchange). My friend was the lead developer on it and it's quite popular and fun.
