Inline fuel pumps

Alright, I am going to a fuel cell setup this winter and I am trying to decide on a fuel pump. I want it to support 600 whp on the DD (won't get there on this turbo). I would prefer a single inline pump. My fuel cell will have a sump on it, high flow fuel filter and -8an lines.

Right now I am looking at the aeromotive A1000 and the Bosch 044 pumps. The A1000 is definitely bigger, but I am a bit worried about the longevity of it. The Bosch should be fine that way and I think it will flow enough. Any opinions from anyone? I know Shane ran one of these pumps and I think Steve is too.

Pretty sure Steve is running a dual 255 setup. Otherwise I've been reading up a lot on the Bosch 044 pumps since I know eventually I'm going to need more fuel if I go with E85 and step up to a larger turbo. If I ever reach the limit of my pump, that's what I'll be upgrading to more then likely.

Also have you considered using a Bosch inline in conjunction with you 255? I've heard of people having success with that setup as well.

I will personally be going with the 044 though once I max out my 255.

I am going with a fuel cell so there isn't really a point to trying to mount a 255 in it.

I use carter pumps on all the hot rods we have and they work realy well. It is the only pump that we have not over run in the 67 couger.

Most of the hot rod pumps won't run high pressure though, usually 14psi max. I am looking at Mallory pumps too, they have a pretty nice unit for about $230. 100 psi max and good flow.

I also have a efi carter that puts out that kind of presser also.
and the ones on the rods put out 45-55 psi that is on the cougar and has to reglated down to 14psi

I am going to need a minimum of 90 psi though.

I have been researching and I am starting to lean towards a single Bosch 044. I am still very interested in other opinions though.

Jay Racing had the best deal out there on the 044. The 044 is supposed to be good up to around 700whp, although all the pumps seem to go more than they are rated for. The A1000 is really loud, but in a cool way. You could always run a second 044 in series later, that should take care of all your needs into the future.

I went with the dual in-tank 255hp's because I already had upgraded hard line up to the filter from the tank and they're quiet. Now after looking at my setup a little closer, I'm going to be going with full braided to and from the tank instead of the hard lines and associated crappy fittings.

The Bosch might do it. If you an A1000 or Eliminator, you will probably want to get the voltage controller from Aeromotive, to keep it from burning out the pump, especially if you are going to run a gas tank smaller than a 15 gallon.
