My 91 Talon TSI is leaking antifreeze from the water pump. I figured if I'm going to be installing a new water pump I better do the whole timing belt thing. I have done lots of smaller things on these cars like turbo swaps, fmic installs, even a tranny swap, but I am not sure I could handle this by myself.

I don't want to take it to the shop because it would be really expensive, and I would like to learn to do it myself.

I am wondering if anybody would like to help me out. I will buy the beers and will pay you in cash. Just hit me up and we can work out a price. I have all the tools needed and a heated double car garage.

Here is what I am going to do:

MD182295 Balance Shaft Belt
MD326059 Timing Belt
MD129355 Timing Belt Idler Pulley
MD156604 Timing Belt Tensioner Pulley
MD115976 Balance Belt Tensioner
MD164533 Timing Belt Tensioner
MD972052 Water Pump
MB568898 A/C Belt ?
MD178430 Power Steering Belt (660)
MD186126 Alternator/Water Pump Belt
MD121986 1G lower timing belt cover gaskets
MD156770
MD006665

MD376608 Crank Pulley

An M10x22 bolt MF241281 and a lockwasher for the newer idler pulley that has a different center, requiring a much shorter bolt

Please PM me if you are interested in helping. I may be interested in paying a supporting vendor to do the work. Feel free to pm me a bid.

Also, where is the best place for me to buy these parts? dealership? NAPA?
Thanks a lot.

You could ask Nick G for the prices on the parts in the Brookdale Mitsu section. I think your best best is going to be to compare prices of a bunch of different places and see what works best for you. Though in my experience and personal opinion, you can never beat dealership quality.

Only suggestion I have, is don't skimp on the parts. Buy the OEM parts from mitsu. It's not worth it to do the whole job, just to have a crap cheapo timing belt snap on you down the road

Mark (tkrperformance) did the work for me and charged me a fair price. Only took a couple hours and it runs even better than it did. Thanks for everybody's help.
