It is a few blocks away from our old facility. We have one other option that we are looking at that is in Plymouth. The problem with the Plymouth location is we went and "found" it and it is somewhat of a pita to find. We have an appointment tuesday to see what it looks like inside, but the renovation would probably be very costly.
We are just trying to find a location that will allow us to dyno tune during the day and allow us to better lay out our shop space. Good shop space is hard to find, tenants that don't complain about noise is even harder. We made a mistake with this landlord regarding noise, the next lease we are in control.
Moving every year is not the goal and is honestly a huge pain! Fortunally we are keeping the same phone numbers so it will not be difficult to track us down.
We will probably be throwing a moving party as well.
I'll have more details at the end of this week. We are just very excited to have the opportunity to obtain a better layout for the future. The move will allow us to schedule work more efficiently. For those that will have to drive further (assuming the Ramsey location is chosen, it is a 95% front runner) I appologize. The new "digs" will be well worth the drive, trust me :).
If you are getting hassled about noise it is a no brainer that you need to move. Cars at WOT with straight through exhaust arent exactly quiet and obviously that is a huge part in a days work at a performance shop with dyno tuning.
Good luck on finding a better location. Sounds like a smart thing to do to me.
What is Hitech's setup like? I heard they are moving? Is there current location worth a shit?

If business wasn't going well, you wouldn't be moving, so congrats. Yeah, it's a hike up to ramsey, but do what you must. (p-town would be slick, I must say).
Maybe in a year I'll want a built 4g63. :D :D
It isn't that far from me, but I am sure you will lose some customers being up in Ramsey. There are several nice sites down here in Fridley, right off 694. One is on Hwy 65, just south of Menards. It has been vacant for quite some time. There is also several industrial complexes that have some vacancy around here. I know noise would not be an issue there. Actually the Carquest just moved out on University too, and that building is empty. I would do some more looking. There are a ton of places out there.

Sucks that its going to be a long drive for the majority of customers, but congrats on being able to expand again! Business must be good, keep it up :)

Yeah that makes it 3 times in 3 years.
I'm not sure about my math skills, but three years seemed a bit long to me. I just looked at your move in dates from your first LSE posts(first Ramsey shop).. May 2005. I had to check, I thought I was losing my mind..

Well it's been 3 years from the start. Moved from our garages thus gathering all the equipment and tools into one location in Ramsey. Then with the addition of the Dyno, came the move to Maple Grove. So to better serve you the move to the new location is a plus. Yes moving is hell but can't stay here.
