My friend Jared and I were bored today so we hopped in his car and drove 5 hours deep into Iowa. We eventually found ourselves in the outskirts of the Quad Cities in Bettendorf. Cow tipping was the original objective, but as luck would have it this poor 2003 Evolution 8 was lonely and in need of a new home. Needless to say I got distracted.

Filling up with some 93 octane before heading back to the motherland. (The Evo, not the Elantra...)

The trip went without a hitch other than dodging road kill while traveling both ways. The car is what you'd expect for a 3 year old car with 43,000 miles on the clock. A lot of highway miles as the seller had taken many cross country trips to and from Wyotech, and his dad had most recently been driving it to work across town. No real power modifications which was a big selling point. Unfortunately, every caliper's clear coat is flaking off, and the clear coat on the carbon fiber spoiler is messed up.
So far I'm extremely happy. For having driven a 1991 Grand Prix every day for the past 8 years, and as selfish as it sounds, I believe I'm entitled to a nice car for once.
