I drove from houston to the cities in august, and we took very little of I35. I recommend you just take 35 cause it's fast. The scenery isn't very good. Avoid Martin Luther King drive, anywhere you might find one.

Well my friend and I are just going hopefully in my new MR (next springs purchase) so we'll have room :) I'm going in May let me know if you're interested, it's gonna be off the hook.

Yeah I've driven there and back 4 times, left at 3AM last time on no sleep and drove straight through.... bad idea. I can make it to Dallas in about 14 hours. Yeah I-35 is fucking boring as hell.... not to mention the horrible Kansas City you have to go through on the way there.... the arm pit of the world. I still enjoy the drive though, I just love getting in my car and driving.

I think that was my piece of advice to you on that trip. Oh the irony of MLK drive being the center of gang violence in pretty much every town in america...
