Yeah, you are now. You weren't around back in '94 when I got into DSM's though. Old man Hill is the only one on here that might have been around longer than me. I got my first DSM in Dec of '94, when did you get yours Steve?
After you and Mo apparently. I was introduced to DSM's back in February of 1989 when a buddy of mine in the Navy bought a brand new Eclipse RS. It was really futuristic looking back then and we got more attention on the freeway than a pink Lambo.
Years later after reading up on the Talon Digest and getting paper catalogs from the vendors of the day(Bushnuts, Extreme, Alamo Autosports and Archer Bros), I got my first DSM in the fall of 1996 I believe. It was a 91 Tsi AWD automatic, black with tan cloth, 71K miles. I immediately put in a K&N, boost controller and had a local muffler shop build me a 3" catback, which was considered race only at the time. I spent most of my time putting stereo stuff in it like a custom made sub box and custom kick panels. I ran a best of 14.5 with that car and sold it after I bought my current POS from Shindley as a divorce present to myself in June of 1999. By that fall I was doing repair work for some of the locals of that time. I guess it's been ten years in the scene. I should get a hat or something. :D
