92 galant vr4, 550cc injectors, bigger pump, 16g, 2.5 in ss exhaust(i think it might have an exhaust leak judging by sound) no tuning

this problem was worse before i put some band new bosch platinum plugs in and now it runs smoother while boosting but has the problem..

anyway my car HATES lower rpm's.. just sometimes doesn't even wanna move..

anyway after that if i floor it.. it builds full boost(no problem ever building full boost you can hear the turbo spooling but no go), goes slow and i let off and it kind of pops.. if it does that and i slowly let off and progressively give it gas.. it goes fine....usually

also sometimes its just kind of rough but goes like hell no problem..

AND my dip stick shoots out and spits oi everywhere :) but the dip stick slides in and out of the thigy no prob.. no real pull action reqired.. there is resistence but not much AT ALL.

anyway the motor supposedly has around 15k on it and the car 141k.
does it just need to be tuned? is the turbo blown?(no smoke from exhuast pipe or anywhere i checked) and ya.. could it be the bov leaking? a boost leak in general? am i loosing pressure cause of my dipstick popping out? knowing my luck its all of these but ya..

also wednesday i think im gona stop by lse and get a compression check(dont have the stuff to do it myself) so ya if anyone from lse chimes in on this thread.. pm me or ill call ya.

but any suggestions are great..

So you have bigger injectors and no s-afc/maf-t/eprom?

Ditch the Bosches and get some NGKs.

Doesn't that motor come with 510cc injectors? If so you are running rich.

Definitely do a boost leak test.

3 things:

1. Install NGK BPR7ES spark plugs
2. Buy an AFC and get your car dyno-tuned
3. Buy a new dipstick from Mitsu (we seriously deal with this same problem on this board at least once a week, spend the $14 and fix it right, not some ghetto-hack way with zip-ties, tape, or pliars)

Yes, no (450cc is stock, he has 550cc aftermarket), and yes.

Oh, ok, so not the same as the japanese version with the small 16G and 510's. 14b and 450s.

Very rich then.

FYI, not all JDM Cylcone 4G63 engines came with the 16G and 510cc injectors.

This is terible advice but I'll give it anyways: If you are too cheap to actually fix your car the right way you could just hack the hell (Blaha-style) out of your MAS and hope that makes it run better.

For sure. Something like 1 in 5.

Swapping to a 2G MAS might be an option as well.

I would run a palm and see what the ECU says. BPR7ES are the way to go on a dsm.

Ahh, the old 2G MAS + 550's mod. Now that's old school for ya!
