I was walking with my dog through a mini snowmobile trail that we have behind our cabin I used to ride on as a kid when the lake got boring, and I saw a big ass dead bird laying in a field half way through the trail. So I climbed under the electric / barbed wire fence and sure enough it was a Bald Eagle. So we called the state and they are having us get the tracking number on its foot.

Looks like it was possibily shot, which really pisses me off since on our lake we have a Bald Eagles Nest in a big old Pine tree that has been there since I was two. More than likely that is one of the two adult Bald Eagles that live in the nest on our lake with its young year after year.

That does suck, but the thread title had me thinking you found a Eagle Talon car.

What type of bird was it?

An Eagle, The National Bird.

Sorry if it was unclear, I can see how it could be, considering the board I'm on. :)

As in bald? That might be worth reporting. I think the state keeps track of their numbers, at least in general.

Damn. That's what going up north is all about. If you're in the Minong/Gordon area, that's beautiful country.

I'm about 25 minutes away from Siren, Wisconsin... Where that tornato ripped through over a year and a half ago, they had to rebuild everything. Now everything in that town has a nice new building instead of old crappy ones.

Yeah, I can see how not mentioning what species of eagle it was would be difficult. 420 man!

lol!!

I knew I was forgetting something in front of Eagle, damn memory.

But, they came and picked the Bald Eagle up, he said it could be from a few different things like lead poisoning. He also said they are gonna send it to Madison to be examined and will let us know what the results are.

My father drove by the nest and said he only saw one of the Bald Eagles sitting in the nest tree on a branch, and this was close to dusk, almost as if they were wondering where their partner was.
