Can we get the classifieds changed back to how they used to be?

Sorry if this pisses u admin guys off, but just a suggestion.

It's not that bad, but honestly I havn't looked at it even once yet. I'm so used to the classifieds being an actual forum. It might be a little better if when something new is posted up, it comes up when you hit the new posts button? As big brother stated, just a suggestion...

No. We are 90% opperational for the new system that is coming online. Just working out a login issue.

I also have not even looked at the classifieds since the new way was implemented. I bet most the people don't even see what's for sale now. I liked when it popped up like a normal thread, so I could just see if anything caught my eye, even when I wasn't looking to buy anything. Now I don't even think about clicking the classifieds.

Again, the one's we are setting up will allow for "new thread" integration and a "new ad" block running on various parts of the forums/gallery/aracde.

The new Classifieds even has it's own name and web address already.

There will be no restrictions on who can use it (Vendors excluded and will need approval). This means no post count requirements.

Why are you changing the requirements? At least before you could buy something and semi-trust the seller. Look at all the dumbasses who came on the board with only the intention to unload some junk and never return. I don't see the point in opening yourself up to that. I know you want the site to grow, but at the same time you need to stay loyal to your original local base. I would imagine if this starts turning into something similar to DSMTuners a lot of the senior/original members will leave. The only reason a lot of people are here is b/c its mostly local guys who know each other and have become friends over the years and really not for the "DSM" aspect. but more for the "car community" aspect. "Stay loyal to your base or the whole thing will topple."

I'm changing the requirement simply because it will be up to the buyers to start leaving some feedback. You don't have to buy from someone who doesn't have any past experiances to go on, but this will give more options for parts and access to those who just don't use the web all that much to BS.

This will never turn into DSMTuners, it simply will never be that big, mainly because of the local/midwest member base. Is that saying we won't have problems? No, of course not.

Staying loyal to our base? Do you want the responsibilty of running this site? It's not just a personal site with 20 members who BS back and forth and get most of their car info on sites like DSMTalk and DSMTuners and NABR. It's because of all the support from our vendors and senior members that out customer base has expanded on it's own. And We have to adapt with that. If that means I lose activity from members because they don't have an intrest in the Mitsu area anymore, then so be it. I am not catering to the "downtown crew" or the "appelbees gang" or the "original ten" anymore.

Sorry Chris, but this is still a DSM/Mitsu based site and we will adjust and grow with the times. This is done to provide a large and more active base of auto enthusiasts to our vendors as well as give every one of those enthusiasts a place to mix all things that are part of off topic bullshit and technical advice.

No I do not want to run this site, I feel you, Chris, and everyone else is doing a great job. I realize this is a DSM site, shit, thats half the reason I bought another DSM. I am sure the site will remain much the same as it is and everyone will continue to post here and have a good time, but it does concern me (and others) that there is a chance the site will become less personal. Oh well, I anticipate the changes and look forward to seeing what it brings. When the official switch anyways?
