What do you all think about this 95 gsx? The seller is going to tow it here from Monrow, Wisconsin.

It has it has a little over 105,500 miles on it.

-The low profile tires need to be replaced, but it also comes with stock rims and "newer" stock tires.

-He just put a new centerforce clutch in it.

-It has the normal sun fade on the hood like all of the 1995
talons.

-He just replaced the timing belt and redid the head.

-The driver seat there is a minor tear from the wear of getting in and out.

-other than that the interior is in mint condition.

-Aftermarket exauhst

-every thing works power windows/locks and sun roof.

-the windows have 20% tint on them...short throw shifter.

-there is a smaller dent in the rear panel behind the drivers door.

He origionally wanted 6k, I talked him down to 4k and he said he would tow it here. What do you all think?

My first thought is: the low profile tires are worn bad, the aftermarket clutch was bad he had to replace, he broke the timing belt and had to redo the head. He probably was driving this car pretty hard and I'm wondering about the engine and tranny.

Why don't you just drive out there and inspect it in person? A day-trip is worth the peace of mind. From the pics and the info you posted, assuming he isn't hiding anything, $4k seems like a pretty good deal. That yellow is hidious and I hope you put those wheels on eBay asap.

If you can't drive it before buying tell him to fuck off. And get rid of those fucking rims and the yellow wiper while he's at it.

yeah...the only way to drive it fist is to go out there and drive it. I guess I should probably do this if I decide on it. Its about a 5 hr drive. So now I'm looking for opinions besides that.

A test drive would help the most if it's running. Find out about the tranny. $4k isnt too bad, like the previous posts said, get rid of the yellow and the rims...haha.

I'd wait and up your budget a tad and get a better ride for your money.

Seems decent for $4k; might want to get the block inspected for crankwalk, do a compression test, etc. Mostly just drive it and see if you like it!

5 hrs isn't a bad drive, find a friend to go with you so you can drive it home if you decide to buy it. I would never buy a DSM w/o test-driving it first.

Shit son, I drove to Fargo in the middle of a blizzard on a week night to test drive a car. Not that I made a good decision in buying the car, but regardless I don't think a weekend trip would be bad. Just make sure she runs good.... and get rid of those horid rims if you do decide to purchase.
