Go to Mitsu and spend the $60 to get a new door handle...far less work and effort than "shaving" your door handles (even though they are already recessed so it would really be "filling" rather than "shaving").

Dammit Chris your ruining everything by pointing out the obvious. I've wondered the same thing though.

Have fun driving that w/o handles in the winter when the door popper is frozen and you can't get in your car.

That'd suck so bad. To answer his question though, they make kits to shave off the handles. Just go on ebay and look or try visionautodynamics.com. They may have something for you.

It's really not all that hard to shave the door handles, just weld in some sheet metal and fill and paint, a few hours tops(unless the bodyman is really slow). The wiring and installation of the solenoids is another couple of hours. And as long as you get quality(Auto-Loc) solenoids(and they're installed properly), you will have zero problems, regardless of outside temp.

I have heard this as well. Especally when it is frozen. I heard of some people that had air baggs on their car and the had it pretty much on the ground when parked at the mall. Came out an hour later as well 4 inches of snow and they couldn't get into their car.

To shave you handles you pretty much just take them out, fill in the holes, and install a kit to open them for you by remote. Cool looking but I don't know how it would be in MN. On the other hand lightning knows what he is doing abotu this type of stuff so I guess if you have the right stuff it will work.

sorry for the long post

BTW I believe that you arn't allowed to drag race (mabey other racing as well) w/o door handles for safty reasons. Just thought you might want to know. Whatever you do good luck.

Even if you get shitty ones just spray some moisture displacing lube(like WD-40) in the solenoids before winter and problem solved.
