Here is a blog of a guy who used to be more hardcore about World of Warcraft than I ever was. Thankfully, I'm proud to say I barely even play 1-2 hours a week now when I was playing 5-7 hours a day 7 days a week, even all day on weekends sometime.

The biggest part of the addiction is the game doesn't end, you can not win it. Just when all of the people who are very far in the game think the end is in sight Blizzard will add new content to keep them going.

That's some crazy shit. Even reading some of the comments from others, just insane.

I think gaming is a true addiction to some, like gambling & drinking may be to others.

At least you can think that even if your not. ;) :D

Crazy shit, that's for sure. I'll stick with my drinking as well.

Exactly! When drunk, reality is whatever you make it to be!

I remember Halo 2, i use to play it for hours and hours, i'd get home from work at 8pm and play till 3am. My gf was always super pissed at me because all i would do is play halo, then i bought a DSM and canceled my Xbox live account.
I do play wow now that it is colder out, but only at night when there is nothing else to do, i kind of moderate it so i don't get really addicted and so i don't cut hanging with out other people short for the game.

I was playing very often for over a year. I decided to quit in april. The first month sucked. i wanted to play so bad but i knew i had to focus on my life more. then after the first 3 months i thought i had completly gotten over it, then i logged into myspace and saw an ad for it and was really tempted to play but then i had forgot that i gave my cds away to install the game, so here i sit 7 months with no WoW. I am not looking back. its WAY too addicting and i would like to actually live my life instead of a characters life on a screen....
Although i was fun chasing noobs down and one shotting peoples. :)

i have, and never will, touch that game. i've seen it dissolve lives and drop GPAs waaay too many times.
