View Full Version : Does Our Host Suck?
It was just a better choic as far as intrests and now with the business and everything. But we will be going to Enes as soon as I can afford it. So if people want to donate to move maybe enes can post up a figure on cost for the year and we can see what we can do. Cause I want this site to Kick Ass for everyone, but we need up time to do so. Reactor said when we started we would get free hosting if we went national. So he could use us as a model site for thier hosting servies. I didn't want that and then the shitty downtime started to get worse.

Get a price, I'm sure there are plenty enough people here to get it together.

I'll donate what I can.
Same here, my 'Ban a Member' fund will be partially shifted to a 'Support the Server' fund.

DSM Style,
I own a dedicated server from:
http://www.hostforweb.com/
For my Webdesign stuff / hosting. I have TONS of unused space / bandwidth and guarentee 99.99% uptime.
Anyway, I'd be more then glad to donate it if you'd like. Let me know. By the way migrating from this server to the other is easy. All you have to do is backup the MYSql Database, keeping the structure. Then on the new server, import the database, reinstall all of the php files that come w/ vbulletin and voila.
The debate about cable and dsl. Most of the time, Cable will provide overal more bandwidth, however, DSL provides faster response (ping) times. So when your just surfing the web and not downloading, DSL is often faster; downloading large files cable is. I've had both, 2mbps Cable is what I currently have and my 1mbps DSL seemed faster and was much more reliable....
DSMStyle or DSMChick, let me know if you'd like hosting.

i have never had a problem, maybe because of my location, my $.01
Thanks for the offer, but I have already decided I want to go through Enes. I know of several site o his server that have some very solid uptime and I know him more as well. I just don't want to get into free service again. I want to be able to hold a company liable for the hosting and for that I don't mind paying for good hosting. Hell I am payng for soe real crap right now.
