I cannot get the car into fifth gear at the transmission. It's not the cables, and it's not the shifter assembly. I even adjusted the cables to no avail. I called Shep racing, and Emailed John Shephard. I am incredibly pissed. I expected perfection after spending about $2000. By the time I get this all set up, there will be snow on the ground and the car will be parked. How fucking worthless.

Don't give up man. These things happen. I had to yank my transmission an extra time once because the guy that machined the flywheel lied to my face about the numbers he had machined it to, and once the car was running, I could not disengage the clutch.

Think about JET, how many times has he had his tranny off of his car in the last year?

With that said, I would be pissed to. Get in touch with Shep, they'll make it right.

Hey Kevin, I heard you resolved the issue, what was wrong?
EDIT: BTW this is David C. :)

I got en email from John saying, "Is there a washer under your reverse light switch?" And of course, there wasn't! That fact it was sitting about .125" in too deep kept 5th gear from engaging. I made a new crush washer quick and problem solved! And she shifts great :)

Good news! Its always nice when you have what seems to be a major problem then it turns out its just a simple fix :)

I am SO relieved it was just something so small and stupid. I'm very happy with the tranny, I love actually being able to downshift and shift as if it was a normal car (haha!). I've been babying it for about 250 miles now, no hard shifts, just nice slow granny shifts with pauses halfway through the throw. ***Another note***: I also installed a act 2600 w/ spring 6puck. This clutch feels awesome. Not too stiff pedal, slips really nice (a tiny tiny bit of chatter felt in the pedal). I was expected much harsher engagement, but I wish I would have gotten a sprung 6 puck sooner!
