I have my IAT(Inatke Air Temp GM sensor for AEM EMS) in the TB elbow. Is that a bad place for it becuase of heat soak? Where is a better place to put it if thats not a good place? or how can I make it work on the TB elbow?
Thanks,
Mike

What kind of elbow are you using? It'd probably be better if you put it in your upper intercooler pipe just before the elbow. Thats where most of us put ours.

How much heat soak do you think you're going to get at the TB?

The stock 2G elbow might be a little thicker than your normal intercooler piping and it isn't seperated from the hot intake manifold by a silicon coupler, so it might be more likely to suffer from heat soak.

The sensor will become hot from the TB elbo and not give an accurate air temp reading to your EMS. Put the temp sensor in your UICP normaly between your BOV and TB elbo.

What about trying to reduce the intake manifold temp. Like this http://www.magnusmotorsports.com/otherproducts/index.htm (bottom thing)
Im not sure if it would work but couldnt it reduce the manifold temp thus reducing the risk of heat soak?

That is a good idea also, just put your IAT into you upper pipe like everyone else.

Well that would cost me money, I gotta get a block off fitting and a new bung and have it welded in. Just trying to see if it is that big of a deal.
