I recently changed my PCV valve and a week or so after that I started to get this continuous squeaking from that same area whenever the car is running. I thought the PCV valve was defective so I purchased another one and the sound still persists. I can't pinpoint the sound exactly but its somewhere in the vacinity of the valve cover/PCV valve area. The funny things is, it will squeak for a few seconds even after I turn the motor off like it's something internal stopping with all the internal parts. And also, I disconnected the hose for the PCV valve once just to see and the sound was barely audible. Anyone have any ideas what this could be?.. I hope it's not something internal fudging. :(
Car is a 97 GSX, 110,800 miles, rebuilt manual trans, 2600 clutch, mbc, catback exhaust, intake, bov.

are you sure changing the PCV triggered it? When you pulled the PCV valve out, did it come out as one piece or break apart? Also, try removing the pcv and letting your car run, see if it still makes the same noise.

Not 100% positive changing the PCV triggered the squeaking noise but I never had that noise before then. It came out fine as one piece, I will try running the car without the PCV valve when I get a sec. Thanks.

also, try taking your oil cap off and listening while the car is running to see if the sound is any louder.

Ok so I took out the PCV valve and let the car run and I still hear the squeaking but not as loud. When I tried to hear exactly where was coming from, it looks like it is coming from between the intake manifold and the fuel rail. I have no idea what would squeak in that area.

Leaky seal? Start wiggling the rail and injectors to see if the noise ever stops or changes.

Wiggled everything in that area.. nada. I guess maybe it is one of the injectors. I'm going to get the injectors checked tomorrow.
