WOW, how do you know they survived? Looks like it would have gone right through the driver. Was that a civic si?

The site that I found it on said that they survived. I have no idea if it was an SI or not.

That looks like one of the new SI's. Musta been too much i-VTEC to handle.

I have seen on tv a chain link fence post go through a guys chest in a crash and he survived. I have also seen a car (seen the car in real life) that was wrapped all the way around a phone / electrical pole... the car still has the pole in it. The people in it didn't survive though...
I do believe these pictures were presented to the MN Department of Transportation or whatever, because they want to replace those guard rails with the ones where the end of it actually goes into the ground instead of just curving off toward the ditch. If the ends are not dug into the ground, the car isn't deflected, it's speared. And that does appear to be a Civic Si Speeding accident. It would take a lot of velocity to spear through the radiator, engine, fire wall, half of a human person, and two seats, a sub box, and so on. Ouch :razz2:

yeah, they may have seen that coming... but there wasn;t really any place to go. plus look at the rail inside the car, it's red. probably with blood. diggin the end into the ground is really smart. why didn;t they do this before? they must have been i-VTEC'in at 120 cause it's a long way down the rail too!

kind of amazing to think about it that 99% of the people on here have probably been doing the same exact thing the civic was going down the road or close to what that evolution was doing and the two of these people just ended up making a mistake, amazing how fast things like that can happen
