So a guy i work with drove home on his lunch break to get his wife cuz they were going to the state fair, he had to go the bathroom so he pulls up to his house parks on the street and leaves truck running. He comes out from going the bathroom about 10mins later and a tow truck is already hooking up.. so he runs out and tells the guy hey we were just leaving and thats my house trucks running dont tow it. The dude tells him no i got u now i was on the way by and sense its not allowed to park on this side the road im towing it so if u want me to leave it that will be $100.00 so we called the company after paying the guy to leave the truck and the company told him he is lucky the driver offered that? What kind of crap is that? anyone ever heard of such a thing. This happen in the Twin cities

Was anyone in the car, or did he just leave it running unattended? It's illegal to leave a running vehicle unattended...

It's "cause" not "cuz". There is only 1 period and quesiton mark needed at the end of a sentance or questions. And that would be some $100.00 crap, yup.

No, nobody was in the car and i realize it is illegal but he is not no flipping cop so towing is not legal as far as i see it for that... i mean ya he could have been less of a dick!.. i mean come on 100.00 is GAS money!

Something is not making sense with this story. Let's say that it takes someone 5 minutes to use the restroom, 10 minutes if taking a shit. There is no way in hell that a cop can pull up, see a running vehicle, radio in to dispatch to request a tow, have dispatch contact the towing company, have the towing company dispatch a truck, have the truck arrive at the running vehicle, and the truck already be in the process of hooking up all within a maximum of 10 minutes. Are you sure he didn't have a noontime quickie with his wife before or after his restroom visit?

ok well first off your dumb! cuz a cop was never mentioned in the story. It was a passing by tow truck that noticed the car parked on the road. your not suppsed to park in the road but sense the car was running who tows it right away? Understand or is that to complicated?

Well first off, Name calling isn't something a new guy to the forum doesn't come in here and do. If it was a passing by tow truck as you put it there is a reason for it. Maybe a towing company was dispatched to watch the area for whatever reason. It's unheard of as a tow truck just happens to drive through a area and choose to tow a car. Regardless if it is in front of his house or not. I find it just silly if you think a tow truck driver just happened to drive by and see a car sitting on the side of the road let alone running and thought to himself "lets tow it". I look at this situation as just plain bad luck nothing more.

Why wouldn't you park in the driveway? That's not illegal is it?
