im in a dilema, so i thought i ask you guys out. should i rebuild my tranny or buy a used one. i was thinking that if i rebuild, i know for sure that my tranny will last for awhile but if i was to purchase a used tranny the question is always going to be there "when is it going to start grinding". if i decide to rebuild my tranny, where around the cities or state can i bring it to get it rebuild. im a poor college student so i want somewhere cheap but someone or somewhere that is some wat familiar to dsm's. let me know guys--thanks

Done it once and do it right:

As a side note, since you mentioned that you're in college, learn to type in a manner that does not give one a headache when trying to comprehend what you've attempted to say.
If you can afford it, go with Shep. If not, try really hard to find an honest DSMer who is selling a known good tranny. I would stay away from ebay and the junkyards unless you know for sure they are honest.
I am in the same boat btw, I want a rebuild but at the same time I dont have 1k+ to stick into it.

thanks, but are you seriously complaining about the way i type. maybe i should start typing lIKA tHiS so you can really complain about it.
and yes, going with a shepard tranny would be great and probably with T.R.E, but again I'm not rich. I know there's a lot of dsm guys around here that has gotten their tranny rebuild and i know damn well everyone doesnt have the money to send it to shepard.
and if you have complaints about the way i type, for a side note, send it through a pm. thanks buddy, oh, and to clearify you dont always have to use the shift key. go ask your english teacher about that.

You're probably not going to find anyone around here that knows what they're doing for less than just having Shep do it. Shindley was the only one and he's not doing them as far as I know.
And this is a charity post because your lazy ass typing gives me a headache as well. Good luck with college, I'm sure you'll go far.

hey, Steve Hill with the 2.4 6bolt with two 255 walbro fuel pumps in his 1g. nice to see you. funny thing is that you're typing just like me. maybe i should be even lazier and just put it on the CAP LOCK AND START TYPING LIKE THIS. DOES IT GIVE YOUR EYES A MORE OPEN OUTLOOK INTO THE WAY I TYPE. I DO THIS FOR YOU GUYS CAUSE YOU'RE SO ASNINE ABOUT IT.
If you're asking yourself how does this person know what I have in my motor. Maybe you should watch your tongue and who's nuts you're riding on.
Thanks anyway mods, great to see the help gets around.
