I've got a 14b powered 1g AWD, all stock. I don't want to bother with boost creep, so I'm planning on getting an external gate o2 housing when I get my 3" turbo-back, and ditching the internal wastegate. I was going to go with a 38mm Tial, with a 1 BAR spring. But somone I know says I should go bigger. Isn't there such a thing as too big of a wastegate, espcially on such a puny turbo? The car will normally be at 15psi-ish on pump gas, and whatever on race gas.

Just buy one of our o2 housings, problem solved.
$259.95
Otherwise a 38mm wastegate can easily hold a 14b back to 15psi.

It really shouldn't be creeping that bad. Niterydr is right though, I have one of their LIPP units and it is PIMPP! :) And it gets the job done too....

Or you can have the turbo ported and not have a problem with boost creep.

With a 1 bar spring, you will not be able to run any lower than 14.7 psi of boost.

He knows all of this but he was looking for future upgrade. Why not buy the stuff now when hes got the money for later when he gets a bigger turbo and needs and ex wg. Thats what he is thinking.

run a setup that's appropriate for your current setup. if you have extra money put it in the bank or make a plan and buy a few parts at a time. running an external wg on a 14b seems crazy. how about no wastegate and some c16? :)
