Anyone planning on watching this tonight? I am really looking forward to this show.
When this was all happening I hadnt been watching the news much so i kinda missed the breakdown. But it will be great to finally see what really happened from the peoples point of view.
Hopefully Spike lee doesnt fail in this one.

Sad thing is, is that at the time that quote from Kanye West seemed totally false but after everything started coming to light the statement seemed to have more truth to it. Granted im sure white people were trapped there as well but with FEMA and the lack of government support its hard to say that george bush really did all he could.
Its funny though, i guess Spike lee also interviewed the guy that told Dick Cheney to go fuck himself.

I watched the first two acts tonight, there were three things that stuck with my about the shit that went on...
A) The fucking canadian mount patrol arrived in New Orleans before our own government.
B) The next city over set up armed police on the bridge that were ordered to tell all new orleans people to turn back, and that they were not allowed in the next city.
and finally C) Our fucking retarded president knew about Katrina in a Video Conference that was aired on this program. The video conference was with FEMA and yet still he didnt do shit. The People in FEMA were questioning whether the Levees would break under the stress. Which it turned out that the levees would only stop Catagory 1 hurricanes, maybe a Cat 2. but this was a Catagory 5.
All in all i feel spike lee did a great job at least on the first 2 acts, He wasnt in a single shot of the film, he let the people talk which i thought was a great way to do this.

And it could happen again due to global warning (ie more severe hurricanes) and the fact that the levees they rebuilt will only withstand an F3 again. I say let the place become what nature wants it to and have the people move on.... to a better city. So this shit doesn't have a chance to happen again.
