Hi, long time lurker first time poster.
Any event I have a stock 2g DSM that one 0f the rod bearings spun on the crank. Any ideas on where to get a crank kit? or would it it advisable to just put a new short block in? Thanks

It would be better to put a 6 bolt motor in it. (90-92.5 motor) If you fix the stock 2g motor, you'll never know if it is going to do the same thing down the road.

I bleive it's almost a guarantee it will "Walk" again. It's just a matter of when, and how long. Do the extra work needed to swap in a 1g turbo. Look for a 6 bolt, and don't bother installing a 7 bolt.

You can find instructions on VFaq.com.

After re-reading your post, I'm guessing this car is a 2g turbo? If it isnt, forget what I said.

A rod bearing failure is not crankwalk boyz.

If you're endplay is fine, just have the crank turned and put in the .010 under bearings to go with it.

Your still messing with the thrust bearing. Just like playin with the devil. :p

I never said it was crankwalk. Just greater chances of getting if you screw with it. ;)
