^^ Theres nothing wrong with Manual Boost Controllers, they work fine. You dont need a fancy electronic one.

I second that.
Take that few hundred extra dollar and spend it on something else.

The 14B is a very capable turbo; My car has never been faster than when I was running a 14B at 20PSI with a rewired stock pump. *** Please note *** this is not recommended - I was just able to get away with it running 93 octane in my geographic area and temperature. I would recommend not going over 16psi and rewire the stock pump for re-assurance. I am assuming you have an open air box - if not that should definitely be your next mod followed by exhaust working from the muffler to the turbo. Good luck!

The amount of boost you can safely run depends on the gas used and the tuning.

The only electronic boost controller I would ever run is the GM boost solenoid controlled by an AEM EMS, otherwise I would always take a reliable ball & spring MBC over some flaky, overpriced EBC.

FMIC should be one of your later mods. NOT something to do right away. I found a Conquest FMIC for less then $30 bucks, pipes, core and everything. So, i upgraded now figurng i'll be ready when it's needed. It only prevents heatsoak. There's not a huge performance gain, or any at all at 12 PSI.

I don't like to link other sites, but this guide i think is a very good one for what to do on moding your car.
